ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPITAL WAKISO ACHIEVES SAFECARE CERTIFICATION, MARKING A NEW MILESTONE IN QUALITY HEALTHCARE

St. Joseph’s Hospital Wakiso has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to quality, safety and excellence in healthcare after successfully attaining SafeCare Certification.

SafeCare is an international healthcare quality improvement and certification organisation that works with healthcare facilities to assess, improve and recognise standards in quality and patient safety. Through structured assessments and continuous improvement programmes, SafeCare supports healthcare providers in strengthening systems, improving patient safety and delivering better-quality care. The achievement marks an important step in the hospital’s continuous journey to strengthen healthcare systems, improve patient safety and enhance the quality of services offered to patients and the wider community.

Official SafeCare Certification awarded to St. Joseph’s Hospital Wakiso in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to meeting established standards for quality healthcare, patient safety, effective clinical practices and continuous improvement.

The milestone was celebrated at the hospital with a special visit from the Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemwogerere, who joined the hospital leadership and staff in recognising and celebrating the achievement.

A key highlight of the celebration was the presentation of medals to selected members of staff by the Archbishop in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the hospital’s quality improvement journey https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSVUJMAKo/. The recognition celebrated the teamwork and commitment demonstrated by staff across different departments throughout the SafeCare assessment and improvement process. Speaking during the celebration, the hospital’s Executive Director, Dr. Mugagga Nicholas, commended the entire team for their dedication and teamwork.

“This certification is a reflection of the commitment and teamwork of our entire hospital family. It represents the hard work of our staff who continuously strive to improve the quality and safety of care we provide. The recognition of our staff today is a reminder that this achievement belongs to all of us.”

Dr. Mugagga further emphasised that the certification is not the end of the journey, but rather a motivation for the hospital to continue improving and maintaining high standards of healthcare.

The Archbishop congratulated the hospital leadership and staff upon the achievement and encouraged them to remain committed to providing compassionate, professional and quality healthcare to the community.
